Mathematics, made visible

I'm Akshun — I make animated explanations of mathematical ideas. The kind where a grid transforms, a curve unrolls into a sum of circles, and something that read as an intimidating definition turns out to be describing a picture you can hold in your head.

Most of the work happens long before anything moves: finding the one idea a video is really about, then hunting for the honest path to it. I care a lot about not faking understanding — a beautiful visual that leaves you unable to do anything new is a failure, however pretty it looked.

The craft side is programmatic animation, typography and a great deal of patient timing work. The rest is reading, sketching badly on paper, and asking why anyone suspected the thing might be true in the first place.
